If so, have you considered beoming an Activities Co-ordinator?

Our Activites Co-ordinators play a vital supportive role within our Care Homes, leading the way in creating suitable activites to keep our residents happy and occupied.

You'll create a stimulating and varied programme of leisure activities and social events inside and outside the home for residents to enjoy. You'll also work with each new resident to understand their likes/dislikes, abilities and needs, and put together an individual plan for them that you'll evaluate regularly.

Your people skills, positivity and warmth will inspire everyone to get involved in activities. You'll enjoy working with relatives and care teams, as well as community groups and religious bodies to give residents all the support they need.

In addition to recognising individual resident interests and hobbies, activites may include:
  • reading
  • watching TV/films
  • music, art and handicrafts
  • physical activity - movement/exercise sessions
  • educational opportunities
  • reminiscence
  • making use of the garden
  • parties and celebrations
  • trips and contact with the outside world
  • fetes, open days, BBQs
  • games and puzzles

The role starts as part time but will increase to full time hours.

Ideally applicants will have have experience of working with vulnerable adults, however possessing a positive 'can do' attitude, together with an enthusiastic and engaging personal style is more important to us, together with the following skills and attributes:

All new staff are given industry standard induction training, to include health and safety, manual handling and food hygiene and will be encouraged to undertake professional training.

Applicants must:
  • Be prepared to complete an application for a full DBS disclosure
  • Have 2 suitable references (professional and/or educational)
  • Be caring and friendly
  • Be eligible to work in the UK
  • Have a good standard of verbal and written English
  • Have a full driving licence.
